With almost two decades of dedicated practice in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Leandie has made it her life's work to help couples rediscover connection and intimacy. She's also one of just two certified sex addiction therapists in South Africa, and runs a weekly sex addiction support group for her clients. Leandie brings a unique blend of expertise and genuine care to every session.
Leandie's journey into therapy began during her time as a police hostage negotiator, where she saw firsthand how relationship breakdowns are often at the heart of people's deepest struggles. This sparked her passion for helping couples build the communication and intimacy skills that form the foundation of lasting relationships.
Her crisis intervention background, which earned her recognition as a "Woman of Distinction" finalist in 2005, gives her a special understanding of how to guide people through their most challenging moments.
What sets Leandie apart is her belief that healthy relationships encompass every aspect of our lives - physical, emotional, mental, and sexual health all work together.
She's helped numerous couples navigate everything from infidelity, communication challenges to sexual dysfunction, trauma recovery, and addiction.
And when counselling sex addicts, Leandie helps her clients identify the underlying triggers driving their compulsive behaviours, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and rebuild trust in their relationships.
Leandie earned her Master's in Sexual Health from the University of Sydney and gained international experience in Australia before establishing her practice. She's also a certified sex addiction therapist through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals.
As the author of "Seasons of Sex" (available in English and Afrikaans), a former radio co-host, and contributor to major magazines like Women's Health and Cosmopolitan, Leandie is passionate about breaking down barriers and helping couples restore their relationships and sex addicts rebuild their lives.
